Case Studies
Taylor-Herring

Achieving phenomenal success in the Showbizz PR business, Taylor-Herring needed to increase head-count and move to larger premises at short notice.

With timing critical, Clarion were hired to project-manage the office move and make Telecoms/IT provision for further staff.

Installation of cabling (and a wireless network to allow mobile working within the office) and ISDN lines as well as the transfer of switchboard, phones, PCs and Server were achieved in the shortest time-frame and with minimal interruption to service.

Clarion were able to offset much of the cost of the move by identifying significant call and line rental cost-savings on Taylor-Herring’s landlines. Also, by reducing the cost of the PBX maintenance contract (while actually increasing Service Level response times) we were able to negate the expense of capacity-increase and new telephones for the extra employees.

Furthermore, a Blackberry solution and introduction of 3G Datacards was implemented to allow Taylor-Herring employees the ability to communicate with colleagues and clients on the move and be first to market with breaking news. Again, the cost of which was negated by a huge reduction in tariff charges identified on their current mobile fleet.

Highland Capital

Highland Capital is a US-based Venture Capital Firm. When they decided to move their European HQ out of serviced-offices in London, Clarion was asked to help set-up the voice and data networks.

We installed lines and routed traffic through our wholesale providers, creating significant savings in both areas. We also installed a leased-line for high-speed internet access with an ADSL as back-up.

With the existing US offices having centrally managed Avaya Voice Solutions across current sites (Multivantage and IP Office), it made sense to implement a system that could be integrated with the existing ones.
Accordingly, we installed an Avaya IP Office 406 with a Management Software Application on the network so that the IT Administrator in the US could configure the London Office system, as and when required.

End-user training was carried out and I.P Handsets were introduced to save money on cabling costs (as each user’s P.C and handset would therefore only need one Cat5E point).

Boeing UK Ltd

Boeing wished to move to larger offices within Heathrow Airport while maintaining existing premises for a proportion of their staff.

Clarion facilitated the move of existing numbers to the new site and provided lines and discounted calls on one unified bill. We then installed an Avaya Multivantage Solution – a hybrid traditional/IP system with increased functionality - at the new site and connected this via a gateway to the existing office over a 10Mb LES Circuit.

Linking the sites in this way meant that inter-office communications incurred no call charges. Also, as all call traffic would be routed through the main site’s ISDN30, this created savings by reducing line rentals at the existing site. Some analogue lines remained at the old site to provide redundancy.

Lastly, training was provided to allow Boeing I.T staff to self-administer the system.

Stoneware Capital Services

A start-up Fund Management firm setting up a new office in central London required systems comparable to the corporate infrastructure in use at the large financial institutions from where their staff had joined.

Clarion deployed a Microsoft Small Business solution with a full feature suite and teamed up with Credit Suisse, Bloomberg and the Trading Platform suppliers to implement a real time share index and secure trading platform.

Redundant Internet connections over DSL and live-state back-up ensure that all of the information they require to trade is available instantly, securely & anytime with the reassurance of all operations complying with Financial Services Authority (FSA) Standards.
